Customer Relations Management (CRM)

Staff Portal • Live

The Goal

Digitize the Agribusiness rolodex to optimize ERP data and customer profiles as a central hub to support strategic customer relationships, business & sales plans.

The Challenge

  1. Managing associated accounts - Producer’s accounts are often connected or shared between one or more persons or accounts. This required careful consideration on how to return an accurate representation of a customer’s (sometimes complicated) business landscape.

  2. Variability in use cases - Every business wants something different in a CRM. What is our value proposition for our target market within Agribusiness? Based on customer feedback and assessed future business value, what functionality should be prioritized for an MVP?

  3. Access to functionality - A staff user’s use case for creating an activity is not limited to a customer profile. How and where can staff easily create an activity (take notes, assign/schedule tasks, etc.) from anywhere in the portal?

  4. How can we weave the CRM together with existing customer-centered actions staff users make from the Staff Portal for an integrated user experience?

The Solution

  1. Make associated accounts clearly visible and accessible for MVP with future considerations on how to handle split assets.

  2. Focus on MVP - Build a foundation that cultivates reaction and measure feedback against business needs. Plan for quick turn around to implement feature enhancements.

3-4. Create a global access point with ‘Quick Actions’ menu prioritizing high-touch functionality
(like ‘New Activity’ and business generating actions.)

The Results

A CRM foundation for agribusinesses that manages information with transparency — log activities, create tasks, view farm demographics, and assign account managers to producers. A plan to gauge user’s response to the MVP with a tentative roadmap of enhancements (including integrated data from partner products) to increase value for agribusinesses.
